// Behind the scenes. A photo and the story behind it!

“I have a dream, and I need a few serious photographs from you to make it happen.” That was Csabi's request when he walked into the studio. We had originally planned to work outdoors, but by then there was too little light to create the kind of images we wanted, so we moved inside. The assignment was a serious challenge: he wanted the photographs for his application to the sports reality show Exatlon.

Let me state this clearly: there is no such thing as a bad model. There is only a photographer who fails to see that person's beauty. After all, it is always the photographer who decides which part of what they see will be shown. But how does photography actually work? I will try to explain it through a mental image. It requires a little imagination, but I think it will work. ;)

Imagine setting off into total darkness through a narrow opening deep beneath the surface. Everything is unfamiliar. Every touch, smell and sound raises a new question. You have no idea what you will meet if you venture farther inside. Will you get stuck? Fall into a shaft like in a film? You do have a headlamp. But it reveals only enough to answer one question while creating another. Was that a spider — or a bat?

I believe a beautiful artistic nude series is more a matter of psychology than equipment. To demonstrate that, I bought Olympus's cheapest entry-level mirrorless camera, the PEN E-PL7, together with two tiny Lume Cube lights, and invited an old friend to model. “Is it natural for you to have people standing naked in front of you?” We were already on the motorway when, after several minutes of silence, she broke the quiet with this question in a trembling voice.

I stood there rooted to the spot, confusion written across my face, without even enough energy left to be annoyed. After a deep breath, I shut out the outside world and searched my memory for a similarly awkward situation, hoping it might offer a solution. I found one without having to go very far back — it had happened only a few months earlier. That time I had merely been assisting.

To understand why I love and use the M.Zuiko 17mm PRO, 45mm PRO and 75mm 1:1.8 lenses so much, we need to look back a little. It was late at night and I was standing on the stage of a Ski & Snowboard Festival. Beside me, the DJ was driving the atmosphere into a frenzy; below me, the crowd was lost in the music. I had an M.Zuiko 45mm 1:1.8, an M.Zuiko 25mm 1:1.8 and my favourite creative tool, the Olympus PEN-F.

On Friday evening, the city turned orange. At the request of the marketing team of the Dutch national football team, before the Czech Republic–Netherlands round-of-16 match, we photographed the Dutch fan base and a particularly creative visual concept together with the ShootEasy team. For the project, I had access to the complete Olympus camera and lens range.

This summer has been scorching. Lucky are those who can survive the hottest days near the water. Even luckier are those who can spend them actually on the water — sailing while enjoying the last rays of the setting sun. At least that's how I experienced a warm August photo shoot in which photographic artist Norbert Bánhalmi captured one of the Hungarian brand NATI100%PUREIDEA's beautiful summer dresses, glowing in every colour of the rainbow.

// Or: the impact of artificial intelligence on photography and graphic design. // I can confidently say that I grew up alongside the pioneering years of the internet, digital graphics and digital photography. I was already sitting at a computer when the internet began to spread, building websites for Internet Explorer, doing web design and scanning printed photographs to make pages look polished and interesting.

"The Unmentionables" is an old euphemism for underwear. Deep within a woman's inner world, hidden in the underwear drawer, lives a peculiar collection of objects. They are not merely pieces of fabric, but woven memories and imprints of emotion. Some evoke the lightness of happiness; others carry the weight of pain. Pieces connected to difficult memories can cast a shadow over everyday life, reopening old wounds each time the drawer is opened.
