As a marketing and communications partner of Olympus Hungary, whenever time allows I organise photography events where Olympus photographers can get together, create and learn from one another.

One such occasion was this fashion shoot at the Apátsági Rege Confectionery in Tihany at the end of April 2021.

Where did it all begin?

For me, 2020 began with the birth of my daughter, and the pandemic simply gave me the opportunity to spend as much time as possible with my family.

It felt a little like retirement. :)

After about three months, however, I began to miss creating and the pace of work.

Despite everything, I wanted to launch spring with a strong, memorable project.

I brought an old dream to life in the form of a nationwide photography competition, which culminated in a high-quality exhibition in one of Lake Balaton's most beautifully situated exhibition spaces: Rege Gallery in Tihany.

We added an Olympus photographer meetup and workshop to the same day, and I also took on the role of one of the speakers.

Because of the restrictions, we could not repeat the project this year, but we still managed to spend another photography day together in Tihany. :)

At this point I would like to hand the virtual microphone to my colleague Viktoria Speier and photographer Dániel Horváth, so they can help tell the story of this small fashion-photography day.

I will also include a few candid moments from my own photographs to give a deeper look into the project.

A picturesque Balaton landscape, eye-catching decorations, gourmet delicacies, elegant fashion, professional models and an excellent crew.

With our well-established Olympus team, we made use of the final moments before the major reopening to create together once again, this time around a passion project in some of Tihany's most beautiful panoramic locations.

Arriving from every direction, we began our day at the Apátsági Rege Confectionery, where spectacular décor and table settings welcomed us onto a terrace transformed into a wedding scene.

While the models' hair and makeup were being prepared, we went through the schedule with the styling team and could already tell that an intense day lay ahead.

The constantly changing light conditions did not make our job easier. One minute we were shooting in brilliant sunshine, and the next we had to adapt to an overcast sky.

Norbert Bánhalmi, the creator of the project, held the team together with his characteristic combination of relaxed attitude and professionalism.

During the fashion shoot, our models appeared in front of the cameras in numerous elegant outfits: the women wore pieces from Colorado Fashion – Éva Hegedűs, while the men wore collections from Bono Menswear Store.

The impressive location and refined clothing became an inexhaustible source of inspiration and energy.

Working with a crew of this size is always a tremendous experience.

In a relaxed atmosphere, you meet other creative people, pick up tricks from one another, ask for advice and try new Olympus equipment.

The latter can make it very easy to fall in love — fortunately, I am far from the only person in this community with that problem.

Because there were several photographers, we could capture the same moments from completely different perspectives and with different lenses.

That produced genuinely varied series and also allowed us to make the most of our time, since all seven models could be in the spotlight simultaneously.

The afternoon part of the programme moved next door to the recently expanded Echo Restaurant.

The photography continued with pastel-coloured clothing, sometimes featuring slightly bohemian patterns, chosen to complement the rustic atmosphere, together with exclusive Panama hats.

We captured carefree moments from the wedding feast, conversations and toasts at the bar, and people enjoying desserts at the dessert table.

By the end of the day we were pleasantly exhausted, but even happier as we scrolled through the photographs.

The results could only have been created through genuine teamwork.

Despite the isolation and difficulties of the preceding period, we managed to bring to life a “just for fun” project into which everyone put heart and soul.

Personally, I am especially grateful to belong to a team that knows how to make the best of every situation.
