I am going to begin today’s post from slightly farther away, but I will get to the point quickly. Yesterday was perhaps the first day during the five weeks I have spent here in New York when I could finally breathe and process all the impulses I have received. The video did not only bring back the conversations with Hungarian role models from 1956.

She looked at the photograph and her eyes filled with tears. Moments like that frighten most of us because we are completely unprepared for such emotional reactions. I searched for words, but all I could do was watch silently as she wiped away a tear running down her face. Slowly she raised her head and looked for my eyes. For a moment I looked down, afraid of her reaction.

Quite often, having your photograph taken is unavoidable — even if you hate the idea because you believe you look terrible in pictures. There are situations where a photograph is simply necessary, and it matters that it is a good one. A CV for a new job application is a perfect example. Our heroine, Linda, thought her situation was hopeless, so she decided to trust a professional photographer. Needless to say, Linda is a beautiful woman: attractive, decisive and intelligent.

To understand why I love and use the M.Zuiko 17mm PRO, 45mm PRO and 75mm 1:1.8 lenses so much, we need to look back a little. It was late at night and I was standing on the stage of a Ski & Snowboard Festival. Beside me, the DJ was driving the atmosphere into a frenzy; below me, the crowd was lost in the music. I went to a photographer because I needed professional images for my website and online presence. I came home with something completely unexpected: a sentence that has been hanging on the wall of my office ever since. Most entrepreneurs underestimate how strongly the quality of photographs influences their online presence. That was why I opened Google and randomly searched for photographers near me.

A few weeks ago, we created a photo series with Benedek. What made the assignment interesting was the challenge of making trendy, confident, professional photographs of a sixteen-year-old boy while keeping the images completely age-appropriate. Whenever I photograph teenagers, that is one of my main priorities. The pictures should not be too serious or too provocative — but they cannot feel overly childish either.

Do coincidences exist? You could ponder that question for a long time, listing arguments for and against. Unexplained events, chance encounters? Everyone has to decide what they believe, but one thing I know for certain: my story was not the result of coincidence. As a young woman growing up in a small provincial town, I often dreamed about life in Budapest after finishing secondary school.

I basically see myself as a cheerful, energetic woman who enjoys men's appreciative glances, courtesy and attention. These small “chocolates” from the world around me continuously reinforce my confidence. I think a beautiful photograph can have a similar effect — another small “chocolate” that adds to feminine presence and self-confidence. I want to tell a true story with the permission of the person involved, without revealing her identity. A few weeks ago I received a letter from a 54-year-old woman. I know women are ageless, but this number matters here. She wrote that she would turn 55 within weeks, and the thought was frustrating her. On top of that, she had been alone for almost five years.

In November 2027, a vision that has been taking shape for a long time will become reality.
