I received a few lines that I did not fully understand until G.S., the cyborg Woman, appeared before me. Then this unusual photographic series was born. In truth, the two are inseparable.
I am grateful to a chronic illness for giving me — day after day — far more than it has taken away.
For teaching me openness toward difference and discipline. For the freedom it has given me, and for the colourfulness beyond the conventional and familiar — something society's expectations cannot define or limit.
I am grateful for its challenges. For the silence it taught me to live with, a silence in which I feel so at home. For the silence and time in which all this matured. I am grateful for the achievements of science and technology.
And I am grateful for the friendship of those who understand all of this without words.

Authentic portrait photography does more than create a flattering image: it reveals character, presence and personality.
