04.01 | How NOT to Be Noticeable

Hello, Photographic Artists and Lovers of Imaginary Reportage! :)

Well, April 1st kicked off for us as if someone had switched on turbo mode. Our website was born, and it turned out so beautiful that even my grandmother asked, "Is this the internet?" Yes, Grandma, this is the internet — and much more besides.

Our team also grew like spring flowers, and I started blogging, which is a bit like a soap opera except we're the main characters and every plot twist somehow revolves around photography.

First, working in pairs, we had to "photograph each other" while also catching something "interesting" happening in the background. Ten minutes?

Of course — as if we were expected to solve a mystery in that time. There was "leaving the comfort zone", "directing the drama in the background", and naturally "black-and-white foot photography", where the person in the frame was merely an extra.

The real point was the "subject", which might be a shadow on a wall or a pigeon apparently taking flying lessons.

Then came the "Who Has the Best Picture?" competition, which felt a little like a "Who Can Eat More Pizza?" contest — only with photographs. Some people shot strategically; others went full machine-gun mode. The important thing was that everyone found their own "work of art", born either from a fleeting instinct or sheer blind luck.

Inside the cathedral, the assignment was to photograph "soul", which is a bit like trying to photograph invisible fairies. And of course there was the "one click" rule — the photographic equivalent of "do not press the red button".

At the Vienna Hungarian School, we then photographed a rehearsal of Svung Vienna Hungarian Theatre. The task? "Photograph the future!" Naturally — as if we all carried crystal balls. The point was intuition, which sometimes feels a lot like that split second when you somehow know you're about to trip over.

But what really matters is that the team came together more closely, almost like a family whose shared language is photography. And now, here come the artists' best moments — the visual equivalent of answering the question, "What was the funniest thing that happened today?".
